Vega ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Vega mobile application and the website at heyvega.in (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service — whether you're a gym member, a gym owner, or simply visiting our website to join the Founding Members waitlist.

By using Vega, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information. When you sign up for Vega (via the app or our Founding Members waitlist), we collect your name, email address, and optionally your mobile number.

Profile Information. Username, display name, profile photo, bio, and fitness goals you choose to share.

Gym & Attendance Data. Check-in timestamps, streak history, and the gym(s) you've joined — collected when you scan a gym's QR code.

Content You Create. Posts, comments, likes, messages, and announcements you create or send within the app.

Gym Owner Data. If you register as a gym owner, we additionally collect your gym's name, address, and member roster details you input (names, mobile numbers, payment schedules) for your own management purposes.

Device & Usage Information. IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and pages visited on our website, collected automatically for security and analytics purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your Vega account
• To operate core features: check-ins, streaks, social feed, messaging, and gym management tools
• To send you transactional emails (welcome emails, password resets, founding member confirmations)
• To respond to support, partnership, or press inquiries you submit
• To improve and secure the Service, including detecting fraud or abuse
• To comply with legal obligations where required

We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use your data to serve third-party advertisements.

3. Sharing Your Information

We share information only in these limited circumstances:

• Within your gym community: your display name, posts, and streak may be visible to other Vega users and your gym, based on your privacy settings and the social nature of the app.
• With gym owners: if you join a gym on Vega, that gym's owner can see your check-in history and roster information (name, mobile, membership details) for management purposes.
• Service providers: we use Firebase (Google Cloud) for authentication, database, storage, and email delivery. These providers process data only on our behalf and under contractual confidentiality obligations.
• Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Vega, our users, or the public.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored using Google Firebase infrastructure with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. We implement access controls (Firestore Security Rules) so that only authorized users and systems can read or write specific data.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your Rights & Choices

You have the right to:

• Access and review the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information via your in-app profile settings
• Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting heyvegaapp@gmail.com
• Opt out of non-essential email communications at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email

6. Cookies & Tracking

Our website (heyvega.in) may use minimal cookies or local storage to remember your session and preferences. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or cross-site tracking cookies.

7. Children's Privacy

Vega is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
