Gym workout plan for beginners
A full 4-day weekly split — exercises, sets, and reps. No guesswork. Start tomorrow.
Walking into the gym without a plan is the #1 reason beginners quit within a month. You do random exercises, feel lost, don't progress, and lose motivation. A simple written plan solves this instantly.
This is a 4-day split — enough structure for real progress, simple enough that you're not overwhelmed. Do it for 8–12 weeks before changing anything.
Rest 60–90 seconds between sets. If you can't complete the last rep with good form, the weight is too heavy — reduce it. Increase weight only when you can comfortably complete all sets and reps with good form.

Warm up for 5 minutes before every session — light cardio plus dynamic stretches. Progressive overload is the only rule that matters: add a little weight or a rep every 1–2 weeks. Track every session so you know what you did last time — this is where most beginners fail without realising it.
This plan works whether you follow it perfectly or adapt it slightly. What doesn't work is skipping weeks. Track your check-ins, build a streak, and let consistency — not the "perfect" programme — drive your results.
